Millennium Park

One of the best things to do while in Chicago is to visit Millennium Park. This great park draws in many locals and visitors alike with its lush gardens, beautiful trees, but also great artwork. The famous Crown Fountain which displays 1,000 faces of Chicago on LED displays is particularly popular especially with kids who love splashing around there in the summertime. The Bean is also a popular attraction in the park. It's a big bean-shaped sculpture which reflects the city and anyone around it. There's also a free ice skating rink in the wintertime. If you're visiting during the summer, be sure to catch the many performances that take place all summer long at Millennium Park.

Navy Pier

Not far from Millennium is Navy Pier, another great place to catch outdoor shows and is full of family fun, entertainment and attractions. Take a ride on the famed Chicago Ferris Wheel, carousel or Wave Swinger, or hop on a boat cruise from Navy Pier to experience Chicago from the water. Art Institute of Chicago

When traveling to Chicago, be sure to visit the Art Institute of Chicago. This great museum features famous artwork from Rembrandt and other less known artists. Magnificent Mile

The next thing to do while in the city is to go shopping on the Magnificent Mile which runs along North Michigan Avenue until Oak Street from the Chicago River. Willis Tower Skydeck

You can't visit Chicago without seeing it from Willis Tower Skydeck. This rooftop located on the 103rd floor of what was formerly known as the Sears Tower offers a spectacular view of the city, and on a clear day you can see up to 50 miles away. If you can take it, be sure to step into the "glass box" which allows you to look at the city from right below your feet!

Lincoln Park Zoo

Another great thing to do while visiting Chicago is to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo, one of most famous zoos in the world. It is also one of the oldest and was established in 1868, but it still manages to remain modern. The zoo is open 365 days a year, has over 1200 animals from over 230 species, and is free to the public.

If you haven't gotten enough of skyscrapers then get another panoramic view of Chicago on the John Hancock Observatory Deck 94 floors above the ground. Between May and September, be sure to catch the amazing fireworks show on Wednesday and Saturday nights from the John Hancock Observatory deck.

Chicago Blues Festival

If you're visiting Chicago in June, they you must visit the Chicago Blues Festival which takes places every year in mid-June. The festival draws in over a million people annually and features a multitude of national and local artists, and is the largest free blues festival in the world.

Garfield Park Conservatory

Another wonderful place to go while visiting Chicago is to check out the Garfield Park Conservatory, one of the city's biggest botanical gardens.
